MopedMasters is a US-focused moped reference hub — pedal-equipped and pedal-capable 49–50cc machines like Puch Maxis, Tomos A35/A55s, Honda Expresses, and Peugeot 103s. We are not a scooter site. Scooters use different frames, usually lack functional pedals, and follow different tuning logic.

How we write

Guides are written in plain language for US-market bikes. Technical facts (displacement, drive type, stock jetting ranges) are checked against factory documentation and common builder practice where possible. Laws change — our state table is a starting point, not legal advice; confirm with your DMV.

What we cover

Copyright & content policy

MopedMasters uses three content tiers. Every page should fit one of them — we label wiki-derived and wiki-informed pages explicitly so you know what you are reading.

Tier 1 — Original

Written by MopedMasters: buying guides, maintenance primers, model history blurbs, build-database structure, calculators, and editorial commentary. Short factual statements (belt part numbers, bearing sizes, year ranges) are not copyrightable — we still cite sources when they come from community documentation.

Tier 2 — Wiki-informed

Original structure and voice, but jetting tables, port-timing presets, or tier specs researched from the Moped Army Wiki and similar community references. Examples: Build Database, port timing calculator, pipe designer presets. These pages carry an attribution block naming the wiki articles consulted.

Tier 3 — Wiki-derived reference

Curated summaries of community builder notes — specs and quick-reference tables for convenience, with step-by-step procedures left on the source wiki. We link out rather than mirror long tutorials. Example: the hidden Batavus M48 vault (noindex). Adapted and reorganized by MopedMasters; not factory documentation.

Link directories

Pages that only link elsewhere: Manuals (PDFs stay on Moped Army, Project Moped Manual, etc. — we do not host third-party manuals), Links.

Research workflow

We maintain a local archive of the Moped Army Wiki for research and fact-checking only — to learn what articles exist, verify part numbers, and find gaps. It is not a publish pipeline. Pages go live only after MopedMasters rewrites, adds structure, and attaches attribution. We do not train AI models on wiki content (per Moped Army robots.txt policy).

Photos

Stock and technical photos are hosted locally for speed. Most come from the Moped Army Wiki image archive, which has no single site-wide open license — each file may have its own uploader terms. See the full photo credits page (filename, source URL, wiki article).

Takedowns & corrections

If you believe something here infringes your copyright or is wrong, email mopedmasters@yahoo.com, use the report / contribute form, or post in Live Chat. We will remove or re-credit promptly.

Editorial standards

Headlines match article depth. We do not fabricate view counts, read times, or ranking claims. Always inspect the actual bike before you buy. Modification content describes what community builders document — follow at your own risk.

Ads & privacy

Ad slots are marked on each page. When you deploy with an ad network, replace placeholders with your ad code and publish a privacy policy covering cookies and analytics your network requires.
