History

German engineering at its finest — Kreidlers were raced competitively across Europe. Tight tolerances, precision casting, and the distinctive red tank make them instantly recognizable in any vintage moped lineup photo.

The Florett name covers several generations of 50cc sport mopeds from Komet-based engines through later MK variants. German domestic market bikes often had better maintenance history than US imports, but rust and seized pistons still appear on anything stored outdoors.

Rarer in the US than Austrian or French bikes. Finding parts means European suppliers and patience, but the build quality rewards the effort. A sorted Kreidler feels closer to a small motorcycle than a casual commuter.

Join a Kreidler-specific forum before you tear into the bottom end. Shim stacks and bearing sizes are documented in German manuals that rarely surface in English summaries.
